  4. These are unprotects.  The only requirements are that they must be unprotects
  5. done with something like Norton Utilities--not Debug, or a special unprotect
  6. executable.  Also, they must be for IBM/compatible games.
  7.  
  8. To submit unprotects, either leave it in the form of a message, or upload it
  9. as a file.
  10.  
  11. I'll make an effort to grab any that come along.  While many unprotects come
  12. in their own file, a few don't.  The following collections of unprotects have
  13. been busted up by me: TOPLIB1, CP1, CP2, CP3.

  15. To view an unprotect, just type it's number.  You may start typing while the
  16. entries are being displayed.

  18. If you try one, and it fails or succeeds, let me know.  There may be multiple
  19. unprotects of a program also.

  21. Unprotect for Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge by Sir-Tech.

  23. Using Nu's Diskedit.exe or a similar utility:
  24.   1) Search for the string:       75 3F 84 C0 74
  25.   2) Replace it with the string:  00 00 00 00 EB
  26.  
  27. Do this for the following files:
  28.   WMAZE.OVR  [should be at 39,677 decimal]
  29.   WBASE.OVR  [should be at 10,851 decimal]
  30.   WPCMK.OVR  [should be at 21,560 decimal]
  31.   WMNPC.OVR  [should be at 43,627 decimal]

  33. When the question comes up, just hit [Enter].

  37. Unprotect for Gateway to the Savage Frontier by SSI.

  39. Using NU's Diskedit.exe, or a similar utility, edit the GAME.OVR file:
  40. 1) Search for the string:  9A 0E 0C 41 03 75 07   [should be at 22,583 decimal]
  41. 2) Replace the following:                 00 00
  42. 3) Search for the string:  9A 0E 0C 41 03 74 05 9A          [at 22,619 decimal]
  43. 4) Replace the following:                 EB
  44. 5) Search for the string:  9A 0E 0C 41 03 74 03 E9 DC       [at 22,556 decimal]
  45. 6) Replace the following:                 EB
  46. 7) Save
  47.  
  48. When the opening protection question comes up, just hit [Enter].
